The World of Aldoria

When you first join CivSMP, you spawn in Aldoria — the server's hub world and the heart of everything. Aldoria is home to NPCs, banks, crates, the courier board, and the portal to the survival dimensions. From peaceful villages to cursed ruins, every corner of Aldoria has a story waiting to be uncovered.

Aldoria is not a survival world itself — it's where your journey begins, and it's the one place on the server where you're safe. Mostly. Spawn contains Warzones, and inside those the gloves come off. From here, you'll set off into the three survival dimensions below.

The Three Survival Worlds

🌿 The Overworld

The Overworld is the main survival world and the largest dimension on the server.

This is where you'll build your base, farm resources, trade, raid, and spend most of your time. With a 10,000 x 10,000 border there's a lot of ground to disappear into — and a lot of ground for raiders to sweep. Keep an eye on Dynmap, because everyone else is.

🔥 The Nether

A dangerous and fiery dimension filled with rare resources and deadly challenges.

The Nether is dangerous but rewarding. Come prepared with fire resistance potions and strong gear — and remember that your portal is a signpost pointing at your base. Hide it, or don't build one at all.

🌑 The End

A dark and mysterious dimension — home to the Ender Dragon and exclusive rare loot.

The End is the most dangerous place on the server. Open terrain, long falls, and nowhere to hide — a bad fight out here costs you a heart and everything you're carrying. Enter at your own risk.

Spawn Warzones

Spawn itself is protected — you can't be attacked while you're shopping, banking, or handing goods to the courier. But spawn also contains Warzones: marked arenas where PvP is fully enabled for anyone standing inside them.

Warzones are opt-in by definition. Step in and you're fair game; the hearts you win or lose there count exactly the same as hearts won or lost in the wild. They're the best place on the server to practise, settle a score, or farm hearts off people who came looking for a fight.

Watch the boundary. Stepping out of a Warzone mid-fight doesn't cancel your combat tag — and logging out while tagged is combat logging, which carries penalties up to a temporary ban.

Combat Tags

When you engage another player a combat tag activates, in the survival worlds and in Warzones alike. If you want out of a fight, you run out of it — you don't alt-F4 out of it.

Tips for Exploring

• Always carry food, blocks, and an escape plan when venturing far from spawn
• Set a /sethome before heading into dangerous areas — but remember homes don't save your gear
• Use /rtp to randomly teleport in the Overworld when you're looking for an unwatched place to build
• Assume any player you meet in the wild is deciding whether they can take you
• Discoveries are tied to specific worlds — explore each one to unlock them
• Check Dynmap for terrain scars and lit chunks; other players are checking it for yours
